"A pair of birds" made from paper, not ribbon
I came across "ribbonesia" several weeks ago, ribbonesia is an art made by a Japanese artist who discovered a unique way to fold ribbons into wearable animal faces or shapes.
Since I have a friend who lives in Japan, I asked her to look for the ribbonesia book and she kindly sent me the book as a present :) So this is my first attempt making the birds, but instead of using satin ribbon, I used the paper from twirled/ quilling paper.
I wouldn't have been able to make these birds if it wasn't for her thoughtful gift. Thank you, Hiroko!!!
